Flossing is the easiest, cheapest and most neglected advice
of a dentist.
Floss.. Floss your way to healthy teeth
Brushing does not always remove the food
trapped in between teeth. Cleaning between your teeth with floss helps remove a
sticky film called plaque. Plaque contains
bacteria that feed on leftover food or sugar in your mouth. Plaque that is not
removed by brushing and cleaning between your teeth can eventually harden into
a rough substance called tartar. Tartar collects along your gum line and can
lead to gum disease. Once tartar forms, only your dentist can remove it.
Another reason to floss is to avoid cavities.
The bacterial reaction with sugar releases an acid that can eat away at the
outer shell of your teeth and cause cavities.
Flossing in particular can play a key
role in preventing bad breath because flossing. When food particles aren’t
removed, they start to collect bacteria, which can cause bad breath.
How to FLOSS
1.
Pull a medium length size of dental floss from the floss
dispenser and wind it around the index finger of both your hands.
2.
Guide the floss between your teeth using a gentle rubbing
motion.
3.
When
the floss reaches the gum line, gently slide it into the space between the gum
and the tooth.
